Why Stay in Varanasi?

Few cities in the world hold as much history and faith as Varanasi. Also known as Kashi and Banaras, it is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities on earth, set along the banks of the Ganga in Uttar Pradesh. It is home to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, and more than 80 ghats that come alive from dawn to night.

For many travellers, Varanasi has long been a quick pilgrimage stop. Now that Voyage arrives in Varanasi, it becomes a city worth slowing down for, with two or three unhurried days to explore the ghats, the temples and the everyday rhythm of Banaras.

Things to Do Around the Hotel:

  • Darshan at Kashi Vishwanath Temple through the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor.
  • Evening Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat.
  • Sunrise boat ride along the ghats of the Ganga.
  • Morning prayers, music, and yoga at Assi Ghat.
  • A half-day trip to Sarnath, where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon.
  • Banarasi food and silk saree shopping in the old city lanes.
Our team can help you plan and book each of these during your stay.

Best Time to Visit Varanasi

Varanasi is best visited from November to February, when the weather is cool and pleasant for sightseeing and ghat walks. Winter mornings can be foggy, so carry warm layers from December to February.

Dev Deepawali, when the ghats glow with lakhs of diyas on Kartik Purnima, and Mahashivratri are the city's biggest celebrations. These are peak periods, so plan and book early.
